In a series of viral TikTok videos, a creator under the name himynamespaul revealed that she discovered a hidden camera concealed behind a picture frame during a stay with friends at an Airbnb in Marrakech in late June. The tourist explained that after returning from a pool outing, she rushed to take a shower before dinner. While shampooing her hair in the open-concept bathroom, she noticed a picture frame positioned directly across from the shower, one she didn't recall seeing earlier. Suspicious, she called her boyfriend to confirm whether it had been there before. When he also said no, she took a closer look. «I flip the picture frame over and it has all the controls and an SD card», she recounted. At first, she assumed it might be a digital photo frame, but upon shining a flashlight on it, the camera lens became clearly visible. Alarmed, she and her boyfriend alerted the rest of the group. One of the women, who had stayed in a different room, recognized the same frame from her own bathroom the previous day. After reviewing a video she had taken on arrival, they confirmed that the picture frame had been moved between bathrooms and had always been pointed at the showers. In a follow-up video, the woman said the group immediately left the property, reported the incident to the police, and even shared a photo of the group outside the police station. Authorities arrested the Airbnb host, and the listing was subsequently removed from the platform. She also confirmed that the group has taken legal action, hired a lawyer, and that the first court hearing is scheduled to take place soon.
