Morocco will be the guest of honor at the Livestock Summit, the largest European event dedicated to farm animals. The 34th edition will take place from October 7 to 10 at the Grande Halle d'Auvergne in Clermont-Ferrand, central France. Organizers expect nearly 120,000 visitors, including a large Moroccan delegation. In preparation, they attended the International Agriculture Fair in Meknès to engage with Moroccan stakeholders in the sector. For these stakeholders, «building bridges between Northern and Southern agricultures» has become a priority. Morocco is viewed as a key partner, a country where agricultural dynamics are accelerating, offering genuine opportunities for cooperation. The kingdom will actively participate in the event with a program featuring professional meetings, exchanges of expertise, and discussions on shared challenges such as climate change, food security, and generational renewal. On-site, the summit will host 2,000 animals, 1,750 exhibitors, and 140 conferences in this vast «European prairie». The Charolais, an iconic French breed, will hold its national competition there, alongside the Simmental, a rising dairy breed. Climate and the future of livestock farming will be central to the debates. French engineer Jean-Marc Jancovici will open the conferences with a call for sustainable livestock farming. «We need to build a resilient, efficient, and sustainable agricultural model», he told the French daily, Le Parisien.
