A 42-year-old Moroccan journalist named Hicham has been found alive after his family believed him dead for the past ten years. Hicham, who had recently been located in the Cassino, a commune in Italy, was admitted to the Psychiatry Department of Santa Scolastica Hospital. The Prosecutor's Office promptly launched a process of medical and legal support to ensure his care and protection. On Friday, October 3, he was visited by Morocco's Consul General Soad Souleimani. During her hospital visit, Consul Souleimani conveyed «an important message of closeness and solidarity» from Moroccan authorities, while expressing gratitude to Italian institutions for their assistance. She also met with Chief Prosecutor Carlo Fucci and Mayor Orazio Capraro, stressing «the importance of cooperation between Italian and Moroccan institutions». «Thanks to the collaboration between local and international authorities, we were able to restore dignity and hope to a person who, for too long, lived in the shadow of loneliness and uncertainty», said Prosecutor Fucci. The Consul further praised Mayor Capraro for ensuring administrative support for Hicham, highlighting the sensitivity and commitment shown by local institutions.
