Police officers at the Tangier-Med Port Security District, in coordination with the services of the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance (DGST), successfully foiled an international drug trafficking attempt on the evening of Saturday, October 4. The operation led to the seizure of 33 kilograms of raw cocaine concealed in an international freight container. The container, which originated from a port in South America and was bound for a port in an Arab country, had been subjected to a security inspection that resulted in the discovery of several tightly packed slabs hidden within its refrigeration system. The total weight of the seized cocaine was estimated at 33 kilograms. The judicial police in Tangier have launched an investigation under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor's office to determine the full scope of this transnational criminal activity and identify all those involved, both locally and internationally. This operation forms part of the ongoing efforts by the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) and the DGST to combat international drug trafficking networks, particularly those involved in the smuggling of hard drugs and psychotropic substances.
