A 17-year-old Moroccan working illegally at a woodworking company in Nocera Inferiore, southern Italy, died on April 11 following a workplace accident. He had been employed for only a few days when the incident occurred in the factory's industrial zone, local media reported. Although the exact cause remains unclear, authorities suspect he was either struck or crushed by machinery. When he was brought to the Umberto I hospital around 3 p.m., he showed no visible external trauma. He died approximately 30 minutes later. The teen was transported to the hospital by two men, likely colleagues, who left immediately afterward, complicating the early stages of the investigation. The Nocera Inferiore Prosecutor's Office has opened a manslaughter probe. Four members of the company's leadership—including the legal representative, judicial administrator, and two other managers—are under investigation. Authorities are also examining the teen's undocumented status and the company's workplace safety conditions. Surveillance footage, witness statements, and expert analysis of the suspected machine are part of the ongoing inquiry.
