The Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) hosted its second DeepTech Summit (DTS) on May 8-9, 2025, in Benguerir. Under the theme «Redefining Progress: How Artificial Intelligence Transforms DeepTech Innovation», the event attracted over 5,500 participants from 53 countries, including 3,000 students. The summit featured 66 thematic sessions across 11 major technological areas, with artificial intelligence serving as the central focus. The DTS Prize recognized innovative startups across three categories: Cure Bionics won in Life Sciences, Sand to Green in Green Economy, and Nyungu Afrika as the Most Promising African Startup. Each winner received $50,000 and access to UM6P's innovation ecosystem. The summit highlighted 29 African DeepTech startups through immersive formats, including Pitch in the Dark and Reverse Pitch. Multiple partnership agreements were signed, including collaborations with H&S, Attijariwafa Bank, and Africorp Consortium. «The DTS 2025 reflects UM6P's role as a facilitator connecting research, industry, and investment», said Yassine Laghzioui, Director of Entrepreneurship and Venturing at UM6P. The event brought together diverse stakeholders to address technological challenges with solutions relevant to African markets while fostering international collaboration.
