The Primary Court in Marrakech has granted provisional release to Abdelilah Ajout, known as «Moul El Hout», following his arrest on charges of insulting public officials while they were carrying out their duties. The court has scheduled the next hearing for May 26, 2025, to further examine the case. «Moul El Hout» is a well-known social media personality in Morocco. He recently gained national attention for launching an initiative to sell sardines—one of the most affordable and widely consumed fish among Moroccan households—at a price of five dirhams per kilogram. While the move was praised by some consumers, it sparked significant controversy and drew strong criticism from professionals in the fishing industry, who claimed the initiative undermines their interests.
