The Moroccan Association for Human Rights (AMDH) announced on Sunday, June 15, the election of lawyer Souad Brahma as its new president. This followed the NGO's 14th congress, held from May 22 to 25 in Bouznika, during which a central committee was elected that appointed Brahma. She succeeds Aziz Rhali, who served two consecutive terms. The newly elected central committee consists of 23 members, including 8 women (35%) and 7 young people (31%), the association reported. The vice presidents selected are Farouk Mehdaoui, Ahmed El Haij, Omar Arbib, and Essadek Maa El-Ainin. The general secretariat is led by Khadija Riadi, with Brahim Hachane as her deputy. The treasury is managed by Azzedine Baalal and his deputy, Brahim Missour. Other advisory members elected to the committee include Achraf Mimoun, Omar Rachidi, Meriem Meskar, Saad Abil, Oumaima El Ghofri, Zineb Bechnaoui, Mostafa Briouel, Ghassane Iben Ouazi, Soumia Regragui, Naima Ouahli, Abdelilah Tachfine, Abderrahim El Morabit, Ennajem Marmouch, and Zohra Koubia.
