The Spanish National Police successfully foiled an attempt to smuggle 13 stolen cars bound for Morocco and arrested 10 individuals of various nationalities suspected of involvement in vehicle theft, identity forgery, and illegal transport. The operation was part of an intensive security campaign around the Port of Algeciras, where police units from public security, border control, and judicial police focused on exit points leading to the Port of Tangier. They intercepted vehicles with forged identities, manipulated by international criminal networks, according to Spanish media reports. Security sources indicate that these networks operate in France, Poland, and Belgium, where they forge data on stolen vehicles to conceal their origin and evade security checks, especially during the «Crossing the Strait» operation, a period marked by a significant increase in traffic between Europe and Morocco.
