Moroccan athlete Salaheddine Ben Yazide claimed second place in the 3000m steeplechase on Friday at the Paris Meeting, part of the Diamond League. Ben Yazide recorded a time of 8:11.68, finishing behind Ethiopian Lamecha Girma, the world record holder, who won the race in 8:07.01. Third place went to fellow Ethiopian Getnet Wale, who clocked 8:12.58. Another Moroccan, Mohamed Tindouft, finished just off the podium in fourth place with a time of 8:15.32. In the 5000m race, Moroccan double world and Olympic champion Soufiane El Bakkali finished sixth.
