On August 2, 2025, a total of 54,941 passengers and 14,690 vehicles disembarked from Spanish ports participating in the Operation Crossing the Strait (OPE), dubbed Marhaba in Morocco, according to the daily report from Spain's Civil Protection. Since the start of this year's OPE, the cumulative totals have reached 1,381,351 passengers and 343,577 vehicles, marking increases of 4.1% and 4.4%, respectively. These figures suggest a potential new record that could surpass the 3.4 million crossings recorded last year, the highest since statistics began in 1986. On the Moroccan side, OPE is coordinated with the Marhaba operation, overseen by the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity. During a visit to the port of Tarifa (Cádiz) on July 10, Spanish Interior Minister Fernando Grande-Marlaska announced that OPE 2025 had seen an overall increase of 5.6% in travelers and a 6.9% rise in vehicles compared to summer 2024.
