It was a bustling weekend for Operation Marhaba. On July 27, 2025 alone, a total of 36,229 passengers and 8,848 vehicles made their way from Spanish ports involved in the Strait Crossing Operation (OPE) to Morocco, as reported in the daily report released by the Spanish Civil Protection. Since the beginning of Operation Marhaba up to July 27, 2025, the cumulative figures have shown a notable increase, with 1,137,285 passengers (+3.7% compared to 2024) and 280,444 vehicles (+3.8%). During his visit to the port of Tarifa (Cádiz) on July 10, Spanish Interior Minister Fernando Grande-Marlaska highlighted that OPE 2025 was witnessing a 5.6% increase in travelers and a 6.9% rise in vehicles compared to the summer of 2024. These figures point towards a potential new record, possibly surpassing the 3.4 million crossings recorded last year, the highest since statistics began in 1986. Article modifié le 28/07/2025 à 20h46
