«The Autumn of Age», directed by Moroccan filmmaker Bilal Taouil, clinched the Bronze Kama Award at the fifth edition of the Cotonou Film and Digital Meetings (ReCiCo). The event took place from September 27 to October 4 in Benin's capital. The Moroccan short film was honored alongside other notable works during a closing ceremony on Saturday in Cotonou. This edition of ReCiCo, themed «Cinema and Immigration: Issues, Challenges, and Perspectives», was highlighted in a statement by the Moroccan embassy in Cotonou. The cultural gathering, attended by Morocco's ambassador to Benin, Rachid Rguibi, and Sana Benmouissa from the Moroccan Cinematographic Center (CCM), showcased several Moroccan films. Among them were the short film «Darkness/Obscurité» by Mehdi Thoumi, the feature-length documentary «Mora» by Khalid Zairi, and the Moroccan-Senegalese student film «XY». This year's edition, with Egypt as the guest country of honor, featured a diverse array of films and hosted discussions and workshops aimed at film professionals from across Africa. Previously, at the 4th edition of the Cotonou Film Meetings, Morocco was the guest of honor, and the grand prize was awarded to the Moroccan feature film «Sahari Slem Wesaa» by director Moulay Taieb Bouhanana.
