In a meeting this Thursday with Morocco's Foreign Minister, Nasser Bourita, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov addressed the Sahara issue. «We also discussed the status of the peace process in Western Sahara, considering the ongoing deliberations at the UN Security Council», he remarked. «We reiterated our firm stance supporting the resolution of disputes and conflicts, both in Africa and globally, through solely political and diplomatic means, in line with the core principles of international law as set forth in the United Nations Charter». For us, the matter will be settled when all concerned parties genuinely feel that a balanced solution has been achieved».
