Morocco has emerged victorious in the Under-12 African Tennis Championship, a prestigious competition that took place from November 17 to 23 at the MTA club in Casablanca, featuring participants from 11 African nations. In the girls' category, the Moroccan team, comprising Dina Jaoid, Nouha Touimy, and Yacout El Rhaffouli, delivered an exceptional performance. They secured victories in all their matches against South Africa, Tunisia, Kenya, and Nigeria, as reported by the Royal Moroccan Tennis Federation. The national team edged out South Africa with a 2-1 scoreline, achieved a crucial 2-1 win over Tunisia, and dominated Kenya and Nigeria with consecutive 3-0 victories, the statement added. This impeccable performance led the Moroccan girls to clinch the title of African U12 champions. On the boys' side, the Moroccan team, featuring Nasser Mouaffak, Abdeljabbar Essadki, and Ismail Benkirane, competed in a group of five teams. Morocco topped Group B in the initial phase and advanced to the semi-finals. However, they faced a 2-1 defeat against Tunisia, which ultimately claimed the boys' title after a 2-1 victory over Ghana in the final. In the battle for third place, Morocco secured a 2-0 win against South Africa, concluding the tournament with a respectable third-place finish. With the girls' triumph and the boys' commendable third-place finish, Morocco topped the overall standings and was officially crowned the U12 African champion.
