The match on Friday (3:30 PM GMT+1) between Morocco's A' national team and their Omani counterparts, on the second day of Group B, will be decisive for securing a spot in the quarter-finals of the Arab Cup in Qatar, said national coach Tarik Sektioui on Thursday. «The match against the Sultanate of Oman won't be easy, especially since the Omani team will be under pressure and looking for a win to keep their qualification hopes alive», Sektioui stated during the pre-match press conference. «This won't be an ordinary match. It's a last chance for us as well. Only a victory will allow us to advance to the quarter-finals so we can play the final group game against Saudi Arabia without pressure», he emphasized. Speaking about the squad's readiness, Sektioui noted that the players' mindset, tactical discipline and commitment will help them overcome any difficulties, stressing that «matches are played on the pitch and won through effort». For his part, national team player Anas Bach said the squad is physically and mentally prepared to face Oman and secure all three points. He added that the team's ambition is «to go as far as possible in the tournament, even win the title». Meanwhile, Oman coach Carlos Queiroz highlighted the strength of the Moroccan side, saying his team would try to capitalise on their own assets to come out on top in this encounter. The Morocco–Oman match will be officiated by Paraguayan referee Juan Gabriel Benitez. On the opening day, Morocco defeated Comoros 3–1, while Saudi Arabia beat Oman 2–1.
