DR ‹ › A new Mexican telenovela will be filmed in Morocco, bringing the country to the forefront of a cross-continental production set between North Africa and Latin America. The project, titled «Corazón de Marruecos» (The Heart of Morocco), was unveiled this week by its producer Rosy Ocampo. It will be filmed in Morocco and Mexico, starring Mexican television actors José Ron, África Zavala, and Claudia Álvarez. The series is a contemporary adaptation of the classic Mexican telenovela Muchacha italiana viene a casarse by Delia González. It follows the story of a Moroccan woman who flees a forced marriage and travels to Mexico, where she meets the heir to a jewelry empire. «Corazón de Marruecos» is set to premiere on Univision and ViX on January 11, 2027, before airing on Las Estrellas in Mexico on January 18 in prime time.
