Eid al-Adha will fall on Saturday, June 7, in Morocco, the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs has announced. According to the ministry's statement, the crescent moon marking the start of Dhu al-Hijjah was not sighted on Tuesday evening. As a result, the month of Dhu al-Qa'dah will complete 30 days, making Thursday the first day of Dhu al-Hijjah. This year, Moroccans will not perform the traditional Eid al-Adha sacrifice. Earlier in 2025, King Mohammed VI called on citizens to forgo the ritual due to ongoing economic and climate-related challenges, which have led to a significant decline in livestock numbers.
