Israeli media have reported that the Royal Moroccan Armed Forces have selected combat turrets produced by the Israeli defense conglomerate Elbit Systems for installation on WhAP 8x8 armored personnel carriers, which are manufactured in Morocco in collaboration with the Indian company Tata. As part of the modernization process, the original 30mm guns mounted on these armored vehicles will be replaced with 105mm and 120mm guns, typically used on «Sabra» tanks. These new turrets are specifically adapted to Morocco's geographical and terrain conditions. It's worth noting that this is not the first deal between Elbit Systems and Morocco. The Israeli company previously secured a contract worth $370 million to supply several ATMOS 2000 howitzers to the Moroccan military.
