Singapore-based fintech Thunes has launched real-time payment services in Morocco, enabling instant transfers in dirhams directly to Moroccan bank accounts. The rollout comes amid growing cross-border money flows into Morocco, the company said in a press release on Tuesday. By connecting directly to the country's banking system, Thunes says it can offer faster, cheaper, and more transparent transfers than traditional systems. «As the demand for seamless, real-time cross-border payments into North Africa continues to grow, Thunes is committed to offering fast and reliable alternatives», said Aik Boon Tan, Chief Network Officer. Chloé Mayenobe, President and COO, added: «With the launch of direct payouts into Morocco, we're giving our Members the power to deliver faster, cheaper, and more transparent transactions into one of Africa's most vital markets». Thunes runs a global real-time payments network spanning over 130 countries and 80 currencies, connecting to 7 billion mobile wallets and bank accounts and 15 billion cards through more than 320 payment methods, including Alipay, WeChat Pay, M-Pesa, and GCash. The company has offices in 14 cities worldwide, including London, Dubai, Johannesburg, Paris, and San Francisco.
