A 21-year-old Moroccan tourist died early Saturday morning in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, after falling from the rooftop of her hotel. The incident occurred around 2:00 a.m. in the Watthana district, according to Thai police. The tourist had checked in just after midnight with her 19-year-old Moroccan boyfriend, Thai media reported. He told investigators that the couple went to the hotel's rooftop swimming pool area, where he was smoking marijuana with another friend. He said his girlfriend also used marijuana and began talking about wanting to die. After an argument, «she walked to the balcony area near the swimming pool and jumped before I could stop her», he told police. Officers found no signs of struggle on the boyfriend. CCTV footage is being reviewed, and the victim's body has been transferred to Chulalongkorn Hospital for a full autopsy.
