The Gen Z 212 movement announced on Thursday the locations for the «peaceful demonstrations» planned for the day, following the tensions that had accompanied gatherings in several cities. In its statement, the group rejected «any form of violence, rioting, or destruction of public or private property», noting that the decision was made «after a majority vote» within its platform. The movement stressed that the demonstrations would be held «only from 5 PM to 8 PM, in an organized and precise manner at the announced locations». It urged participants to respect this schedule «to show discipline and responsibility, and to preserve the peaceful and civilized nature of [their] actions». «We assure the public and the authorities that our demonstrations will be entirely peaceful», the statement continued, underscoring the need to maintain order to «prevent ill-intentioned individuals from exploiting the gatherings to steal or destroy property». In a separate statement, Gen Z 212 expressed sorrow over the deaths of two people in the province of Inzegane-Aït Melloul between Wednesday night and Thursday morning, as well as injuries sustained by others. According to local authorities, the incidents occurred when gendarmes intervened to stop an attack on the Royal Gendarmerie post in Leqliaa, where assailants attempted to seize weapons, ammunition, and equipment. The movement extended its «sincere condolences to the families of the victims» and expressed «full solidarity with all the injured». It also called for an «urgent and independent investigation to establish responsibility».
