The Ministry of Health and Social Protection announced that it has completed investigations carried out by its General Inspectorate into the deaths recorded at a public hospital in Agadir. In a statement, the ministry said the report on the case has been submitted to the competent public prosecutor's office. It added that those involved have been temporarily suspended as a precautionary measure pending the outcome of ongoing judicial and administrative investigations. The ministry stressed that it is closely following the case to ensure transparency and protect the rights of all parties. It also reaffirmed its commitment to improving the quality of healthcare in public hospitals as part of the broader reform of the national health system, noting that the public will be informed of further developments in due course. It is worth noting that the Hassan II Regional Hospital in Agadir had reported a series of maternal deaths in early September, prompting citizens to stage a large protest outside the facility. The incident became the initial spark for demonstrations that later spread across multiple Moroccan cities and regions from September 27 onward, demanding better healthcare and education services and stronger action against corruption. The protests were led by a group of young people who identified themselves as the «Generation Z212 Movement».
