We have defended this approach and acted upon it», Macron said at the opening of the Conference of French Ambassadors posted abroad, stressing both the «philosophy» and the «effectiveness» of such partnerships. In this context, the French leader pointed to relations with Morocco as one of the «very strong pillars» of France's Mediterranean diplomacy, emphasizing the unique nature of the ties between the two countries and the importance of «forging an extremely strong bond today». Macron also underscored the growing importance of economic diplomacy and the need for French foreign policy to adapt to ongoing geopolitical shifts. He further stressed the urgency of strengthening partnerships with the African continent. «The African partnership is essential, and by 2026 we must see this work through to completion», he added, calling on French ambassadors based in Africa to pursue this objective with determination. The annual Conference of Ambassadors brings together France's diplomatic representatives in Paris under the presidency of the head of state to define the country's foreign policy priorities for the year ahead.
