DR ‹ › Moroccan international Jawad El Yamiq was signed by Spanish club Real Zaragoza on Monday. The defender is returning to the Aragonese side, where he previously played on loan during the second half of the 2019–2020 season. El Yamiq joins Zaragoza from the Saudi Pro League, where he most recently played for Al-Najma Sport Club. His career includes spells at Genoa and Perugia in Italy, as well as Real Valladolid in Spain, where he delivered consistent performances. At international level, El Yamiq has been a regular member of the Atlas Lions. He was part of Morocco's historic run at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, where the team reached the semi-finals, and also featured in the squad that reached the final of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
