DR ‹ › In an effort to strengthen economic ties between Rabat and Dublin, a Morocco–Ireland Business Day will be held on May 6 in Dublin and May 8 in Cork. Bringing together institutional and private-sector actors, the event is co-organized by the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in Ireland, in partnership with the Moroccan Agency for Investment and Export Development (AMDIE) and local Irish business organizations. The initiative aims to position Morocco as a strategic investment hub and a gateway to African markets, while fostering partnerships between Moroccan and Irish companies, according to the event program. It will feature keynote speeches, panel discussions, networking sessions, and B2B meetings. Speakers include Morocco's ambassador to Ireland Lahcen Mahraoui, AMDIE Director General Ali Seddiki, as well as Irish officials and business leaders. Discussions will cover Morocco's industrial base for Europe, opportunities in sectors such as pharmaceuticals and manufacturing, and emerging areas including innovation, digital transformation, and logistics. The program also includes success stories, networking lunches, and site visits to Cork Port and the Sandyford Business District, offering practical insights into trade and investment ecosystems in both countries. «There is a genuine interest from both Ireland and Morocco to increase trade», ambassador Mahraoui said. «All we need is a commitment to establish a solid and tangible network that will help major economic players, along with Irish and Moroccan companies, explore cooperation opportunities». The event is supported by Enterprise Ireland, the Irish government's enterprise development agency, which promotes Morocco as a destination for Irish companies through its «Doing Business in Morocco» guide. According to the document, economic relations between Morocco and Ireland have strengthened significantly in recent years, with bilateral trade exceeding €1.1 billion in goods and services in 2024. Irish exports to Morocco have risen steadily, particularly in services, which reached €440 million, alongside €183 million in goods. This growing partnership is further supported by strong institutional ties and increased connectivity, including more than 12 direct weekly flights between the two countries.
