Ireland has published a Doing Business guide for Irish companies looking to expand into or enter the Moroccan market. Designed as a roadmap, the «Doing Business in Morocco» guide was produced by Enterprise Ireland, the state economic development agency focused on helping Irish-owned businesses deliver new export sales. Presenting Morocco as «a strategic and growing market for Irish businesses», with a stable economy, strong infrastructure, and access to both European and African markets, the guide aims to help companies «navigate the local environment and seize emerging opportunities». It offers practical information on setting up operations, taxation, logistics, regulations, government support, and cultural practices. The Moroccan Embassy in Ireland welcomed the publication of the guide on Friday, describing it as «a valuable resource for Irish companies seeking to engage with one of Africa's most dynamic economies». It added: «As we mark 50 years of diplomatic relations in 2025, this initiative provides timely support to further strengthen economic cooperation and explore new opportunities for collaboration». «With five direct air routes now linking Morocco with the island of Ireland, our business, political, educational, cultural and people-to-people ties are deepening», said Irish Ambassador to Morocco James McIntyre, commenting on the initiative. «Our trade and investment partnerships are growing strongly and Ireland is now among the most significant sources of FDI in Morocco», he stressed. According to data shared by the guide bilateral trade between Morocco and Ireland grew by 15% in 2024. Irish exports to Morocco rose from €116.8 million in goods and €238 million in services in 2022, to €183.3 million in goods and €440 million in services in 2024. Imports from Morocco into Ireland also climbed significantly, reaching €162.8 million in goods and €323 million in services in 2024. These results place Morocco as the 8th largest market for Enterprise Ireland exports in the MENA region and the 5th largest in Africa.
