On Sunday, April 27, Moroccan authorities deported two Italian journalists after they attempted to sneak into the city of Laayoune. The individuals in question are journalist Matteo Garavoglia and photographer Giovanni Colmoni, who tried to enter the city through its northern entrance using a tourist vehicle, without obtaining official authorization from the competent authorities. According to media sources, the individuals exploited their professional status to serve agendas known for supporting the Polisario Front's narratives before they were detained and deported via the road to the city of Agadir. It is worth noting that this is not the journalists' first attempt to enter Laayoune, as they had previously failed in earlier attempts to reach the city.
