Abdellatif Hammouchi, Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance, led a Moroccan delegation at the 22nd meeting of intelligence and security chiefs from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, as well as Turkey and Pakistan. The event, held on May 6 and 7 in Vienna, was organized by the United Nations Analytical Support and Sanctions Monitoring Team. Discussions focused primarily on the evolving command structures of Daesh and Al Qaeda, particularly in light of their loss of traditional strongholds and the emergence of new regional branches. Participants also assessed the threats and risks these organizations pose on regional and international levels in the short, medium, and long term, according to a joint statement from the DGSN and DGST. The meeting provided an opportunity to analyze emerging trends in financing, weaponry, and logistical support adopted by Daesh and Al Qaeda, including mechanisms for concealing and encrypting funds. Attendees also reviewed the latest developments in propaganda, media strategies, and internal communications used by these terrorist groups. On the sidelines of the event, Abdellatif Hammouchi held bilateral talks with the heads of security and intelligence delegations from several partner countries, including Qatar, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and the United Arab Emirates.
