A 12-year-old boy tragically took his own life by hanging on Thursday at his family's home near Marrakch. According to media reports, the child took advantage of a moment when his family was distracted, went upstairs, and was later found hanging by a rope. His father discovered the scene and rushed him to the emergency department at the Mohammed VI University Hospital Center in Marrakech. Although the medical team was initially able to resuscitate him after he had stopped breathing, his condition deteriorated, and he later died in the intensive care unit. The exact reasons behind the tragedy remain unclear, but several possibilities are being considered. These include alleged family-related discrimination over access to a smartphone and the potential psychological effects of the online game Free Fire. To uncover the circumstances surrounding the incident, the Royal Gendarmerie has opened an investigation and has begun interviewing the boy's father and several family members.
