Residents of Ouled Chaker, in the Aoufous oasis of Errachidia province, apprehended a man on Monday who had been committing sexual and physical assaults. Disguised in women's clothing, the suspect targeted women at knifepoint. He was handed over to the Royal Gendarmerie and transferred to Errachidia for further investigation. Several women who had filed prior complaints were summoned, according to Assabah. Investigations revealed the man had served 14 years in Tangier prison and resumed his crimes after returning to the Aoufous oasis, primarily targeting elderly women living alone. Three victims have so far filed official complaints. A security source reported that gendarmerie patrols had been deployed to track and arrest the suspect. During a search of his home, several types of sticks, believed to have been used in the assaults, were seized.
