The Moroccan national team of local players has qualified for the final of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) after defeating the Senegalese team, the reigning champions, 5-3 in a penalty shootout (1-1 after regulation time and extra time) in the semi-final held on Tuesday evening at Mandela Stadium in Kampala. Senegal's goal was scored by Joseph Layousse in the 16th minute, before Sabir Bougrine equalized for the Atlas Lions in the 23rd minute. In the final, Morocco will face Madagascar, who earlier defeated Sudan 1-0 in the semi-final played at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
