The Casablanca International Marathon returns on October 26, 2025, for its 16th edition, featuring a fully redesigned course and upgraded international standards, promising an enhanced experience for the 8,000 runners expected. Organized by the Grand Casablanca Runners Association, the event stands out for its commitment to inclusion, eco-responsibility, and its economic and tourism impact on the city. Casablanca is getting ready to pulse with the rhythm of running. On Sunday, October 26, 2025, the city will host the 16th edition of its International Marathon, an event that has been completely revamped to meet international standards and put runners at the heart of the experience. Organized by the Grand Casablanca Runners Association (ACGC), made up entirely of volunteers from the running community, the marathon aims to be rigorous, inclusive, and fully aligned with the standards of AIMS, World Athletics, and the FRMA. Three race formats are on the program: - the marathon (42.195 km), - the half-marathon (21.097 km), - and a team relay marathon for groups of four. The marathon will start at 8 a.m., followed by the half-marathon at 8:45 a.m. Three separate starting zones will ensure smoother organization, safety, and fairness. An enhanced experience for runners The redesigned course will highlight Casablanca's most iconic neighborhoods, animated by nearly twenty musical and festive entertainment zones. Performances will be officially recognized, as the route now holds international certification. Health and safety measures have also been reinforced, with 12 ambulances, 13 first-aid stations, four mobile resuscitators, and a medical command center near the Hassan II Mosque. A sweep vehicle with a medical team will accompany the last participants. Cut-off times are set at 6 hours 30 minutes for the marathon and 3 hours 30 minutes for the half-marathon. This year's edition also introduces new features: live tracking through a dedicated app, secure baggage check, and improved starting area logistics. Notably, 50% of registrants are women, underscoring a strong commitment to inclusion. The organization is also emphasizing eco-responsibility, with recycling initiatives and over 1,000 volunteers mobilized to ensure smooth operations. A flagship event for Casablanca The marathon will be preceded by a race village open for several days, offering entertainment, DJ sets, food trucks, and charity activities. With 8,000 runners expected, the event aims to go beyond sport, enhancing Casablanca's dynamic, open image while delivering a tangible tourism and economic impact. The ambition is clear: within the next five years, Casablanca hopes to position itself as a true running capital, attracting up to 25,000 participants and establishing its marathon as a benchmark event across Africa, the Mediterranean, and Europe.
