The Morocco-Switzerland seminar on circular and sustainable economy is set to take place on October 20 and 21, 2025, in Tangier, spearheaded by the Swiss Moroccan Alliance (ASM). This event is part of a broader international cooperation effort aimed at bolstering «the ecological transition, the competitiveness of companies, and the sustainability of economic models», as stated in an official release. Organizers are calling this gathering «strategic» for both Morocco and Switzerland, especially as Morocco has been designated a priority country in SECO's international cooperation strategy for 2025. Within this framework, the seminar will act as a «platform for exchange and partnership between public officials, economic actors, academics, and experts from both nations». The objective is to explore «collaboration opportunities around a model of green and inclusive growth». The inaugural session will feature prominent figures, including Younès Tazi, governor of the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceïma region, Leila Benali, Minister of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, and Valentin Zellweger, the Swiss ambassador to Morocco, among others. The program boasts «thematic conferences on public policies, economic cooperation, and circular innovations; a high-level roundtable bringing together business leaders, experts, and decision-makers from Morocco and Switzerland; 'Leaders in Action' sessions dedicated to sharing experiences from pioneering companies in waste recovery, sustainable construction, circular textiles, and organic farming», as well as «field visits to emblematic sites of the circular transition».
