Members of the International Animal Welfare Protection Coalition (IAWPC), met with MPs and public figures in the UK Parliament this Tuesday, urging action to pressure Morocco to end the alleged killing of stray dogs ahead of the 2030 FIFA World Cup. Attendees included Jeremy Corbyn MP, Ruth Jones MP, Irene Campbell MP, multi-award-winning veterinary surgeon Dr. Marc Abraham OBE, and actor and IAWPC supporter Peter Egan. During the event, the IAWPC animal welfare activists ured UK politicians to help pressure the North African nation to stop the alleged «culling campaign». The move is part of the IAWPC's recently launched «Morocco Dog Campaign», initiated after distressing footage surfaced online showing dogs being shot and poisoned, allegedly as part of «clean-up» operations ahead of the World Cup. Moroccan authorities have strongly denied such practices, following international media reports claiming plans to cull three million stray dogs ahead of 2030 tournament. Officials described these reports as «baseless», emphasizing that no culling campaign exists and that Morocco follows an ethical, internationally recognized strategy to manage stray populations using the TNVR method (trap, neuter, vaccinate, release).
