Driss El Hilali, the president of the Royal Moroccan Taekwondo Federation (FRMT), has been elected as a vice-president of the World Taekwondo Federation (WT) during its general assembly in Wuxi, China, on Thursday. El Hilali secured 81 votes to clinch one of the three vice-presidential seats, joining Jin Bang Yang, head of the Korean Taekwondo Federation, and Athanasios Pragalos, president of the European Taekwondo Federation. The assembly also saw Korean Chung Won Choue re-elected as president of the International Federation for the seventh consecutive term. In a statement from the FRMT, El Hilali's election is hailed as a testament to Morocco's expertise and its pivotal role in advancing taekwondo both in Africa and on the global stage. Ahmed Nait El Housse, the Federation's secretary-general, expressed pride in this achievement, attributing it to the Federation's consistent hard work and dedication.
