Yesterday evening, the Al-Aalia neighborhood in the city of Tangier witnessed a sudden landslide on a public road near a housing project that is currently under construction. Local media sources indicated that preliminary data suggests that construction work at the site, owned by an MP, contributed to weakening the soil's cohesion due to excavation and preparation activities. This led to a portion of the slope eroding and caused the soil to collapse suddenly. The incident did not result in any injuries among road users or pedestrians. Meanwhile, authorities cordoned off the area and prohibited access to it.
