The under-17 national coach, Nabil Baha, said on Tuesday in Doha that the Atlas Lion Cubs, who delivered an impressive performance against Mali, have the potential to go far in the World Cup for their age category. «The players played good football and showed that they are confident and capable of achieving positive results in the upcoming matches», Baha told the press after Morocco's 3–2 win over Mali, noting that «Mali was not an easy team, but we managed the game well». «The first goal we scored helped us because it unsettled the opponent and allowed us to take control of the match», he explained, adding that the second goal at the end of the first half «was important for the players, who approached the second half with confidence and determination to widen the gap». Looking ahead to the upcoming quarterfinal against Brazil, the coach acknowledged that «the Seleção is a strong team with good players». He emphasized, however, that the Moroccan squad is made up of players with quality «who are capable of making a difference». For his part, Ismail Al Aoud, named man of the match, said that «the match against Mali was difficult, but we managed to control it and come out victorious». «Brazil is a good team with a great history, but we will analyze their strengths and weaknesses to secure a place in the semifinals», he added. «We are confident and will spare no effort to bring the title back to Morocco». The quarterfinal between Morocco and Brazil is scheduled for next Friday at 4:45 PM in Doha.
