DR ‹ › A man from Rumst, Belgium, was recently arrested in Morocco under an arrest warrant issued by the Belgian authorities. Glenn S., 39, has been convicted twice for his involvement in drug trafficking. Last year, a court in Antwerp handed him a final four-year prison sentence, while a separate six-year sentence imposed in Leuven is currently under appeal. The Antwerp public prosecutor's office confirmed over the weekend that the suspect will be extradited to serve his sentence. According to the Belgian news agency Belga, the fugitive notably collaborated with Jos Leijdekkers, also known as «Bolle Jos», a notorious drug trafficker wanted by both the Netherlands and Belgium, who is reportedly hiding in Sierra Leone. Judicial authorities accuse Glenn S. of assisting the Dutch crime figure in «smuggling cocaine out of the port of Antwerp». Initial investigations revealed Glenn S.'s role through «communications obtained after the decryption of the encrypted messaging service Sky ECC», which has played a key role in several major drug trafficking cases across Europe.
