A 25-year-old woman from Antwerp was arrested last week in Fez, at the request of Belgian authorities. Charlotte B., a planner at the DP World container terminal in Antwerp, is suspected of involvement in a failed attempt to smuggle 2.3 tons of cocaine into Belgium, reports Belgian media. According to the Belgian judiciary, she allegedly played an active role in an operation where cocaine from South America was reloaded into a European container using a «Trojan container», a method where people hide inside the container to move drugs. During an operation at the port of Antwerp, investigators discovered the Trojan container with 2.3 tons of cocaine and several suspects. Strangely, two men were found inside the container, tied up by their hands and feet, next to a third suspect. The reasons for this remain unclear. Belgian authorities are now seeking Charlotte B.'s extradition, while investigations continue in Belgium to identify more suspects.
