From Colombia to Morocco, the music of Daniel Puerta has transcended borders and screens. Known on social media as Dani, the young Colombian artist has made a name for himself through his freestyles, building a loyal and passionate following across the Atlantic—particularly in Morocco, where his name is increasingly resonating with audiences. DR ‹ › Known on social media as Danni, 29-year-old Colombian artist Danniel Poeta, from Cartagena, has developed an unexpectedly strong bond with the Moroccan public over recent months. Through his freestyles, live streams, and messages dedicated to Morocco, his Moroccan fanbase has continued to grow. In this interview, the young singer explains how this connection began and what Morocco represents to him. How did your relationship with Morocco develop? It all started when a Moroccan man named Chafik contacted me in May 2025 to promote his seafood restaurant in Nador. After I posted the video on TikTok, it reached half a million views within just a few hours. From that moment on, many Moroccans began following me on social media, and I immediately felt their support. Thanks to them, my videos really took off. I did that promotion from Colombia, without ever having collaborated with Morocco before. I don't know exactly how Chafik discovered me, maybe he came across one of my videos by chance. Today, I feel incredibly grateful because in Morocco I'm warmly welcomed, and my videos go viral thanks to their support. For me, it's something very special: they make me feel like part of their family. You often wear the Moroccan jersey, use Darija words, and closely follow the national team. What does that mean to you? During the 2022 FIFA World Cup, I really loved the way Morocco played. One day, I met a Moroccan tourist in Colombia who was wearing the Atlas Lions jersey. We started talking, and before leaving, he gave it to me. I felt a sense of responsibility, both because of the support I receive from Morocco and because it's a great team. For me, Morocco represents family. They always comment on my videos, join my live streams, and make me feel at home. During my live sessions, I use a few words in Darija that my followers teach me. They explain their meanings, and that's how I learn them, even though I haven't yet seriously started learning the language. I also haven't missed a single match of the Africa Cup of Nations. I'm a huge football fan and I fully support Morocco. For me, they are the favorites: they play very well and have great players. What do you think creates such a strong bond between Morocco and artists or creators? In my case, it's the love and support they give me. I had never reached millions of views before, it's thanks to the Moroccan audience. The affection I receive during my live streams is incredible; they support me at all times. I post a video, and within minutes it already has thousands of views. Have you ever visited Morocco? If not, do you plan to? I have never been to Morocco. My dream was to watch the Africa Cup of Nations live, but I couldn't afford it. In the future, God willing, I hope to travel, maybe for the Club World Cup. I have many contacts there. I'd love to ride a camel in the desert and visit my friend Chafik's restaurant in Nador. In your freestyles, you often dedicate lines to Morocco. Would you like to collaborate with a Moroccan artist? Of course, I'd love to. I'd really like to collaborate with Moroccan artist Morad. Right now, Morocco is the country that listens to me the most in the world, so for me, collaborating with an artist from there would be a real honor. Finally, I want to say this to the Moroccan public: thank you so much for all the support you give me and for the immense affection you show me every day. May God bless you today and always. And let's go, let's win this Africa Cup of Nations and proudly represent ourselves at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
