DR ‹ › On Thursday, January 8, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez presided over the annual gathering of Spain's ambassadors stationed around the globe, held in Madrid. In his speech, which spanned over fifty minutes, he underscored the importance of «building a peaceful, secure, and stable neighborhood, anchored in shared prosperity, with key partners such as Morocco, Senegal, and Mauritania». Addressing the diplomatic corps, Sanchez revealed his plan to «urge the European Commission to forge enhanced strategic partnerships with these three nations in the months ahead». He highlighted that this initiative «will also be a cornerstone of European foreign policy and our southern neighborhood strategy for 2026». It is worth noting that Sanchez did not include Algeria in this strategic vision for the upcoming year. To recall, the Spanish Prime Minister made official visits to Mauritania and Senegal in July and August, respectively. In December, he co-chaired the 13th high-level Moroccan-Spanish meeting in Madrid, alongside Moroccan Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch.
