The individual was arrested following the circulation of a video on social media. The footage showed him tearing up banknotes inside the Grand Stadium of Marrakech, shortly after the conclusion of the match between Algeria and Nigeria. During the game, which saw the Algerian team lose 2-0, several Algerian fans were observed waving banknotes after the final whistle, suggesting that the referee had been bribed. However, the detained supporter took a different approach by tearing up the banknotes.
