Police at Marrakech Menara Airport have arrested an Algerian national with French citizenship on charges of slander and defamation. According to local media, the individual was subjected to the routine inspection procedures applied to all travelers by the border police. He refused to comply and allegedly made offensive and abusive remarks insulting Moroccans, prompting security officers to intervene and detain him. He was first taken to the airport's security division before being transferred to the judicial police under the Marrakech Security Directorate. A judicial investigation was opened under the supervision of the public prosecutor, with the necessary hearing reports prepared. After completing the initial custody period, the suspect was presented to the public prosecutor on Sunday morning. The prosecutor decided to extend his detention and deepen the investigation to clarify the circumstances of the incident.
