DR ‹ › In the presence of Senegalese Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko, several parliamentary groups in Morocco's House of Representatives used Monday's oral question session, on January 26, to commend the organization of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. The remarks were made during the appearance of the Minister Delegate in charge of the Budget, who also serves as president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF). Leaders from the PAM, PPS, USFP, and Popular Movement groups, alongside a deputy from the Constitutional Union–Social Democratic Movement group and another from the Istiqlal Party, praised FRMF president Fouzi Lekjaa for «implementing the directives of King Mohammed VI», which they said ensured the success of the tournament's 35th edition, despite what they described as «hostile maneuvers by detractors and conspirators». Before addressing lawmakers' questions on the execution of the 2025 budget, Lekjaa took the opportunity to express his «gratitude» to King Mohammed VI for Morocco's hosting of the Africa Cup of Nations. He did not, however, refer to the incidents that occurred during the final played on January 18 between Morocco and Senegal.
