DR ‹ › Dina Slaoui has become the first Moroccan woman to be admitted as a full member and shareholder of the Antwerp Diamond Exchange, the world's oldest diamond bourse. She is currently the only Moroccan representative within the institution, joining a circle historically reserved for a select international elite in a sector long dominated by European and male figures. Based in Casablanca, Slaoui has been working between Morocco's economic capital and Antwerp for more than 15 years, Belgian media reported on Wednesday. She holds a bachelor's degree in Finance and a master's degree in Communication from the Collège Polytechnique de Paris. Early in her career, she specialized in the diamond industry, training at the Antwerp Diamond Exchange before qualifying as a Diamond Grader with HRD Antwerp, a diamond grading and certification authority, where she gained recognized technical expertise. «In the diamond sector, reputation is everything», Slaoui told Dutch-language newspaper HLN, emphasizing that trust and professionalism have been central to her career. She said she focused on building an impeccable track record over the years to establish herself in the highly selective industry. Looking ahead, Slaoui aims to make diamonds more accessible and better understood by African clients, while maintaining strict international ethical and quality standards. Recognized as a diamond expert with Moroccan customs authorities, advising both public institutions and individuals, she is also preparing to open new offices dedicated to both wholesale and private clients.
