DR ‹ › Agadir will host the 28th World Congress of the IUCN Crocodile Specialist Group (CSG) from May 11 to 19, 2026, marking the first time the event is held in North Africa. Organized by Crocoparc Agadir, the scientific gathering will bring together more than 300 researchers, experts, and conservation specialists from across the five continents, according to a statement by organizers. Held under the theme «Crocodilians in an Anthropized World: Conservation, Challenges and Solutions», the congress aims to review the latest global research on crocodilians and discuss sustainable strategies to address the growing human pressures affecting their ecosystems. The choice of Morocco also highlights the country's natural heritage, as crocodiles once lived in the wild in parts of the kingdom until the 1970s.
