DR ‹ › Morocco is seeking to deepen agricultural cooperation with Suriname, with a focus on soil research and fertilization to boost productivity and food security. During a visit by a Moroccan delegation, talks with Suriname's Agriculture Minister Mike Noersalim focused on mapping soil fertility through field sampling, with the aim of enabling more targeted fertilization and more efficient land use, Surinamese media reported on Wednesday. Morocco has also proposed sharing its expertise in soil analysis, as well as chemical and organic fertilizers. Plans are underway to conduct joint fertilizer trials, including in the Nickerie region. The discussions further explored investment opportunities, particularly in fertilizer imports and strengthening agricultural value chains. Both sides see the initiative as a step toward enhanced bilateral cooperation and more sustainable agriculture.
