As part of efforts to establish Casablanca as a leading technological hub in Africa, the Casablanca Municipality signed a partnership agreement on Wednesday with the Caisse de Dépôt et de Gestion Group to create a new technology hub in the Sidi Othmane area, named «Casablanca Tech Valley». The Casablanca Tech Valley project—signed by Nabila Rmili, President of the Casablanca Municipal Council, and Khalid Safir, Director General of the Caisse de Dépôt et de Gestion—is an extension of the Casa Nearshore initiative. The project will be implemented by Ewan, a subsidiary of the CDG Group. It is part of an ambitious vision to transform Casablanca into a balanced, economically strong city by attracting local and international investment and creating high-value job opportunities. According to a statement from the Casablanca Municipality, the project aims to support Morocco's digital transformation and integrate the country into global value chains, with a focus on innovation and technology as key drivers of sustainable urban development. It is expected to enhance city infrastructure, reduce pressure on existing economic zones, and comply with modern environmental standards. The project is also anticipated to generate more than 20,000 direct jobs. The signing ceremony was attended by several prominent officials, including Mohamed Mhidiya, the regional governor; Jamal Mokhtatar, governor of the Moulay Rachid district; Lahcen Naddallah, second vice-president of the City Council; and Mehdi Kabbaj, Director General of Ewan.
