Dozens of female workers at a car cable factory in Kenitra suffered mass suffocation on Monday night due to the release of thick smoke with a strong, suffocating odor, prompting their urgent transfer to Idrissi Hospital for treatment. According to media reports, the incident was caused by the burning of industrial oil used to operate machinery at the factory, following a delay in its replacement. This resulted in the emission of dense smoke, leading to multiple cases of suffocation and fainting among the workers. Dr. Yassin Hifyani, director of Idrissi Hospital, stated that the facility received 145 cases. He confirmed that all patients received the necessary treatment and were discharged in stable condition.
